Cocktail rings became popular during the prohibition years (approximately 1920-1933). Men and women would dress to the hilt and meet in underground clubs called speakeasies, where alcohol was secretly served. Women wore the most amazing rings to these clandestine clubs; these rings soon became known as cocktail rings. The larger and more extravagant the ring was, the more fashionable. Although the styles of cocktail rings have changed since prohibition time, their popularity has not waned and many stylish, yet affordable, vintage cocktail rings can be purchased for as low as $20...sometimes less.   Click on the image to visit the seller's Etsy store.
